Microsoft has now released the timeline for the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform 2020 Release Wave 2. Each year, Microsoft delivers new capabilities in two six-month release waves. Wave 1 was released in April 2020 (which you can read more about here), bringing hundreds of new and updated features to the D365 Customer Engagement Applications and the Power Platform. Once again, this next wave will bring new functionality, rolling out from October 2020 until March 2021.

Key dates:

Release Plans:

On July 8th 2020 the release plans will be published, detailing the initial list of features for Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. These will be available for partners and customers, with early visibility to get ready for the upcoming changes.  Similar to the previous releases, we will cover the key functionality in a blog post, reviewing the best of what’s to come across the applications – this article will also be updated accordingly.

Early Access:

From the 3rd August 2020, early access will then be enabled to test the new capabilities in a sandbox instance, prior to being rolled out automatically in October 2020.

General Availability:

Deployment of the 2020 Release Wave 2 will begin on the 1st October 2020 and will continue until March 2021. A more detailed schedule of the rollout will be published nearer the time, which we will continue to monitor and update you on.
